THIS IS THE GROUP OF DEDICATED GUYS THAT
HAVE COMMITTED THEMSELVES TO SHARING THE DUTIES OF A RACE TEAM. EACH AND EVERY
ONE OF THESE FELLOWS ARE IRREPLACEABLE ... WE COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY THEM for
their efforts. THEY ARE PRICELESS.. All i can say is that when you cheer for the
14 and Mike murphy jr, you are also cheering for them. SO PLEASE REMEMBER TO
TELL THEM THAT THEY DO A GOOD JOB by continuing to cheer for us...

Randy Swanson
Randy is the backbone of the
team. Without him the "14 Team" would not be what it is today. He has taken Mike
from the "street stock" class and enabled him to compete in the "IMCA Late
Model" division at the level he is now. Randy watched Mike at the early stages
of his dirt racing career and saw what many others noticed, Mike has a talent
for dirt track racing. With Randy's leadership, who knows how far we can go?

Mike Kight
Mike has a love of dirt track racing that and has been
"wrenching" on cars for a very long time. He started helping the 14 team back in
the "street stock" days. His talents stretch from body work to chassis setup and
everything in between. Mike was the steady help for Murf Jr when traveling
throughout the mid west chasing the Deery Series ROTY, and that is a lot of
miles. He is always in the pits keeping the car "race ready". We are
fortunate to have Mike on our team and know that we would not be where we are
today without him and his help.

Randall Verplaetse
Randall and Mike
have a very simple common bond. They both love to drive race cars. Many local
racing fans are aware that Randall has been the pilot of the
8V
open wheel modified forever. Randall has many years
of dirt track racing experience under his belt and his knowledge about car set
ups, track conditions, other drivers, and just racing in general, have been
invaluable to Mike’s career. Randall saw early in Mikes “street stock” driving
days that this kid could drive. He has always seen Mike as a rising star
and has been in the background smiling at each new accomplishment that the “A
Team” makes.. |

Brad Coin
Brad has been drafted by the “A Team”. Brad has the understanding of “set up” for these
cars and has been a great asset in this area. With his help Mike seems to get
better week by week. Brad has offered his suggestions and also been at the shop
with hands on help. We hope to keep Brad close, he has a lot to offer a young
team, and we always welcome his expertise.

Tim Marsden
Tim also is a dirt track specialist. Tim has be a very successful driver for
many years and now is a welcome part of the “A Team”. Tim brings the knowledge
he has developed after being involved in the sport for umpteen seasons. Tim is a
multi dimensional member, and really gives the team a boost in the area of our
engines. He has an exceptional talent for diagnosing engines and remedying any
malfunctions. Of course he is willing to and has helped in many ways, but we
lean on him more heavily for our engines. That’s because we know with Tim, it
will be done right.

Joey Sowell
Joey and Mike have been friends since they were in grade
school. As you can imagine, they are best friends now. Mike counts on Joe,
probably more than the rest of the team, because Joe seems to know what Mike is
thinking. With this bond, Mike has a lot less to worry about and therefore can
trust that all the details in the pits and at the shop will be taken care of.
Joey has a huge desire to win and keeps the “A Team” on their toes. With this
type of dedication and desire, the “A Teams” possibilities are endless. |

Donnie
Doug joined
up with Mike's crew when he made his jump to Late Model racing. Randy was the
match maker who believed Doug would be a perfect fit for the "A Team". Well,
right again Randy. Doug brings a hard working attitude with him each and every
time he arrives. He is always ready to do what ever it takes to make the car as
good as it can be. Doug would be a welcome addition to any race team, we just
happen to be the LUCKY group to capture his talents.
Ron Ron
Jeff has been involved with the 14 race team almost from the beginning. Jeff
like the other members has spent many long evenings preparing the car for
opening night at the track and then spending many long evenings, changing things
after the season is underway. Jeff is a valued employee of one of our generous
sponsors MEDIACOM. We are grateful that they allow him time to be
a part of our squad and that they continue to support our efforts as a team.
Jeff is always willing to do what it takes to get the job done. |
